During a visit to my home village in 2009, my father shared with me his deep concerns about the daily struggles facing our communities. He spoke of the urgent need for clean water, access to basic healthcare, and reliable sources of food. His words challenged me profoundly and became the inspiration for what I now consider my life's calling.

Motivated by his vision and unwavering concern for our people, I returned to the United States and launched an initiative called Living Water for South Sudan. Through the extraordinary generosity of friends, supporters, and faith-based partners—especially Thanksgiving Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Nebraska—we raised more than $20,000.

In 2010, those collective efforts made it possible to drill the first modern hand-pump water well in Panthou Thanybur Village, providing thousands of people with access to clean and safe drinking water. More than a decade later, despite the lack of resources for regular maintenance, that well continues to serve the community—a lasting testament to what compassionate people can accomplish when they unite around a shared purpose.

That first project became the foundation for what is now Hope for Agaal and Thanybur Villages Fund INC., as we continue working to expand access to clean water, healthcare, education, and sustainable opportunities for our communities.
