Hope for Agaal and Thanybur Villages Fund INC. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in the United States with a simple but powerful mission: to bring hope, dignity, and sustainable development to the people of Agaal, Thanybur, and surrounding rural villages in South Sudan.
Our organization was founded by Josiah Tong Akol, who was born and raised in these communities. Having personally experienced the hardships of growing up without reliable access to clean drinking water, healthcare, quality education, and other basic necessities, he understands the daily challenges faced by countless families in rural South Sudan.

Our Story
The story of Hope for Agaal and Thanybur Villages Fund, INC. is rooted in personal experience, unwavering hope, and a deep commitment to serving communities that have endured decades of hardship.
Our founder, Josiah Tong Akol, was born and raised in the rural villages of Agaal and Thanybur in South Sudan. Growing up, he witnessed firsthand the daily struggles that many families faced.
Access to clean drinking water, healthcare, education, and reliable food supplies was limited, and these challenges affected nearly every aspect of community life. Like countless children in the region, he experienced the hardships that accompany poverty, conflict, and the lack of basic infrastructure.
