At Hope for Agaal and Thanybur Villages Fund INC., we believe that lasting change begins with compassion translated into action. Although our organization was formally established in 2025, our mission began many years earlier through practical acts of service that continue to shape our vision today.
A Historic Milestone
In 2010, through the generous support of friends, individual donors, and our faith-based partners—especially Thanksgiving Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Nebraska—more than $20,000 was raised to drill the first modern hand-pump water well in Panthou Thanybur Village, South Sudan.

For countless families, this project transformed daily life by providing access to safe, clean drinking water closer to home. It reduced long journeys in search of water, improved health conditions, and brought renewed hope to the community.
This successful project demonstrated that ordinary people working together can make an extraordinary difference.
Investing in Future Generations
Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty.
Over the years, our founder has personally supported the education of more than 50 students, helping many pursue their dreams from primary school through college and university in South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, and Sudan.
These investments are helping develop future teachers, healthcare workers, community leaders, and professionals who will one day contribute to rebuilding their communities.
